Covid Happened to Us All
When the pandemic hit in 2020, the world locked down. People were in their homes to avoid catching Covid as it ravaged the world. This left many people feeling alone and disconnected. While being alone is peaceful sometimes, it can become very lonely and isolating to have so few options for social interaction during a pandemic that affected the lives of everyone on earth.
One day, during this early and very lonely time of Covid, I decided to find a chat app that would allow me to start making friends with strangers as there was little opportunity to go out and meet people. This one choice has led me down a path to some of the most beautiful discoveries I have encountered thus far in my life.

The World is Huge!
The chat app I used allowed me to meet people from all over the world – Gambia, Uganda, South Africa, Kenya, Ireland, Britain, Pakistan, UAE, Tunisia, and India to name a few. I became exposed to different cultures and their way of thinking through conversation – and I was fascinated! I realized I knew very little of how differently people lived throughout the world. Different laws, different ethics, different religions, different customs.
I have always been accepting about the practices of other cultures, but never before was I quite so curious. Their faith, their society, their way of life. There is so much that exists in this world that we do not know nor understand. It is impossible to know everything – and, yet, I have realized… I want to know it all.
I want to know everything about each different culture that exists on this planet. It has become a life goal for me to accomplish this.
I welcome you to join me on my journey of exploring people, community, understanding, and humanity. I hope you enjoy reading about my journey as much as I will experiencing it.
Peace and love,
